WHO WE ARE

Street Pastors are volunteers from local churches who are out and about in the town centre on Friday nights from about 10:30pm through to 3am or 4am. We're here to care for people, to offer practical help where possible and generally to be a listening ear if you just need to chat to someone.

We're not part of the Police or the Borough Council, though we work in partnership with them and with other agencies and are grateful for the support they give us. Street Pastors wear a distinctive uniform and are linked to other agencies via the PubLink radio system.

Street Pastors is supported by a number of churches from across the town. As Christians we believe that God loves Colchester and its people and we think it's important that the church shows this in a practical way.
