WHO WE ARE

Street Pastors are all volunteers from local churches who are out and about in the town centre on Friday and Saturday nights from about 11pm through to 3am or 4am. We're here to care for people, to offer practical help where possible and generally to be a listening ear if you just need to chat to someone.

We work in partnership with the Police, Colchester Borough Council, the SOS and Communities Bus and other agencies to help make Colchester a safe place for a night out. Street Pastors wear a distinctive uniform and are linked to pubs, clubs, CCTV and other agencies via the PubLink radio system.

Street Pastors is supported by Essex Police, Colchester Borough Council and a number of churches from across the town.

As Christians we believe that God loves Colchester and its people and we think it's important that the church shows this in a practical way.
